I started my journey at JDC in January 2022, I’m one of the crew leads/Foreman. I specialize in the framing and concrete work (bone structure of the build). I enjoy working at JDC as they recognize you for your ability’s and push you to grow in the company. They have full trust in their employees and very minimal micro management. I must say I have worked for many construction company’s and at JDC I enjoy coming to work every day over any of my previous jobs. I enjoy all the guys and girls in the company it’s a great atmosphere. It’s more of a family here then just employees. Full-Time Designer

JDC Custom Homes, a prestigious design-build firm specializing in luxury custom home construction and renovations, is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled individual to join our team as a Full-Time Designer. This role involves utilizing your expertise in Revit to create accurate drawings, applying the basic requirements of Part 9, Ontario Building Code (OBC) standards to concept drawings, drafting concept designs, rendering work and assisting with product selections throughout the construction process. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of residential construction in Ontario to contribute to our innovative projects.

 

Responsibilities:

This is a full-time position working at our office in Orangeville.
• Attend design meetings, in person at our office or project locations as needed, and Goal Setting &
Review (GSR) meetings when requested by the Design Manager and/or Management.
• Verify zoning restrictions for all projects and draft site plan
• Drafting of concept plans and client meetings/correspondence to discuss these plans
• 3D interior and exterior renderings
• Determine when HVAC, septic and truss/floor engineering is involved, notify the Design Manager accordingly, and
coordinate as needed.
• Maintain an average of 9/10 quality satisfaction rating as determined by the Design Manager.

 

Skills Required:

• Proficient in Revit software for architectural drafting
• 3D rendering skills, both interior and exterior, in Lumion
  • Knowledge and application of Part 9 of the Ontario Building Code (OBC)
  • Experience in drafting concept designs for residential projects
  • Ability to assist with product selections during construction phases
  • Understanding of residential construction standards and processes in Ontario
